We have today received guidance from Bowls England to the effect that they are seeking clarification from the Government on whether or not clubs can open their greens at all, even for casual play.

In light of this information we are clearly unable to give any guidance on whether or not we’ll be able to open the green in the foreseeable future.

Regardless of the above we still have our bills to pay which includes our rent and we’d invite any Members to make a voluntary donation ( in lieu of membership) to the club of £20 or more should they feel able to do so.

As far as collection is concerned this can be by either cash or cheque, if you are happy to pay by cheque then simply enclose your cheque in an envelope addressed to the Treasurer and leave it on the table in the Clubhouse. For those who wish to pay by cash if you would contact one of us then we’ll make an arrangement with you.

I feel if it is left up to the club, we can put our trust in the club to allow casual bowls with any rules the club apply, they will always pur people first. From my point of view I feel if you can afford to pay the £40 even for a reduced season, we should support our club and pay what we can even if not the full £40. It goes without saying if someone is struggling a bit and can’t pay due to any type of circumstances, our club will understand and remember you are still a valued member. It is worth pointing out that we have one of the best run clubs around with people who dedicate a huge amount of their time for us. Our club desrves to get any support people can give, which in turn will help the comittee during this time.
