The Nines League, played on Tuesday evenings, is a relatively new addition to the NCBA league programme and attracts clubs at both ends of the membership spectrum.
The format in this league is very different from that of the other two. A team consists of nine players forming a pair (four bowls each), a triple (three bowls) and a four (two bowls). All play eighteen ends with only one shot being recorded at each of the first two (no trial ends.). The result of a match is determined by the number of legs won, regardless of the aggregate score.
